Recipe: Creamy Macaroni And Cheese π

- 1 pound elbow macaroni
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 2 cups milk
- 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese, divided
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Step 1 π
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.

Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Add macaroni and cook for 8 to 10 minutes or until al dente; drain.

Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir in flour, salt, and pepper until smooth. Slowly add milk while stirring with a whisk until it starts to thicken. Add 1 cup cheddar cheese and Parmesan cheese; stir until melted. Remove from heat and stir in macaroni. Pour into prepared baking dish.

Bake in preheated oven for 25 minutes or until bubbly and lightly browned on top. Sprinkle remaining cup of cheddar cheese over top and bake an additional 5 minutes or until cheese is melted. Let stand 10 minutes before serving.
