Recipe: Falafel π
Ingredients π
- 2 cups chickpeas, soaked overnight
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon ground coriander
- 1/2 teaspoon ground turmeric
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, finely chopped
- 2 tablespoons fresh cilantro, finely chopped
- 2 tablespoons whole wheat flour
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Vegetable oil for frying

Step 1 π
Drain the chickpeas and place in a food processor. Pulse until coarsely chopped. Add the onion, garlic, cumin, coriander, turmeric, parsley and cilantro. Pulse until everything is well combined.
Step 2 π
Transfer the mixture to a bowl and stir in the flour. Season with salt and pepper. Form into small patties with your hands.
Step 3 π
Heat oil in a large skillet over medium high heat. Fry the falafel patties for about 5 minutes on each side or until golden brown. Drain on paper towels before serving.
