Recipe: Kibbeh π
Ingredients π
- 2 cups fine bulgur wheat
- 1 lb ground beef or lamb
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 tsp cumin powder
- 1/2 tsp allspice powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 Tbsp olive oil
- 2/3 cup water
Directions π
Step 1 π
Soak the bulgur wheat in water for 10 minutes. In a food processor, combine the soaked bulgur wheat, meat, onion, cumin, allspice, salt and pepper. Blend until you get a paste.
Step 2 π
Shape into small balls and flatten each ball into a patty shape. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the patties to the skillet and cook for about 5 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through.
Step 3 π
Add the water to the skillet and cover with a lid. Simmer for an additional 5 minutes until all of the liquid has been absorbed and the patties are cooked through. Serve warm with your favorite accompaniments.
