Recipe: Macaroni And Cheese π
Ingredients π
- 2 cups elbow macaroni
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 2 cups milk
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese, divided
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Step 1 π
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
Step 2 π
Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Add macaroni and cook for 8 to 10 minutes or until al dente; drain.
Step 3 π
Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat; stir in flour, salt, and pepper until smooth. Gradually stir in milk. Cook, stirring constantly, until mixture is thickened and bubbly. Remove from heat and stir in 1 cup cheddar cheese and Parmesan cheese until melted. Stir the macaroni into the cheese sauce until coated. Pour into prepared baking dish.

Bake uncovered in preheated oven for 30 minutes or until bubbly and lightly browned on top. Sprinkle remaining 1 cup of cheddar cheese over the top of the casserole; return to oven for 5 more minutes or until cheese is melted. Let stand 10 minutes before serving.
