Recipe: Pho Noodle Soup π
Ingredients π
- 8 cups beef broth
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 inches fresh ginger, peeled and cut into thin slices
- 2 tablespoons fish sauce
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 1 star anise
- 4 ounces dried rice noodles
- 1/2 pound cooked beef, thinly sliced
- Fresh herbs, such as cilantro and basil, for garnish
Directions π
Step 1 π
In a large pot over medium heat, bring the beef broth to a simmer. Add the onion, garlic, ginger, fish sauce, cinnamon stick and star anise. Simmer for 10 minutes.
Step 2 π
Add the rice noodles and cook for 3 minutes. Add the beef and cook for an additional 5 minutes or until the noodles are tender.
Step 3 π
Ladle the soup into bowls and garnish with herbs of your choice. Serve hot.
