Recipe: Shepherd’s Pie 🔗
Ingredients 🔗
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 pound lean ground beef
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup beef broth
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- 2 cups frozen mixed vegetables
- 3 large potatoes, peeled and cubed
- 4 tablespoons butter, melted
- 1/2 cup milk
- Salt and pepper to taste

Step 1 🔗
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add onion and ground beef; cook, stirring constantly until meat is browned. Stir in garlic powder, flour, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce and tomato paste. Simmer for 10 minutes. Add frozen vegetables; simmer for an additional 5 minutes or until vegetables are heated through. Spread mixture into a 9x13 inch baking dish.
Step 2 🔗
Place potatoes into a pot of boiling water; cook for about 10 minutes or until tender. Drain potatoes and return to pot. Mash with butter and milk; season with salt and pepper to taste. Spread mashed potatoes evenly over the top of the meat mixture in baking dish.
Step 3 🔗
Bake in preheated oven for 30 minutes or until golden brown on top. Let stand for 5 minutes before serving.
