Recipe: Vegan Mac And Cheese π
Ingredients π
- 2 cups uncooked macaroni
- 1/2 cup vegan butter
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 1/2 cups unsweetened almond milk
- 2 tablespoons nutritional yeast
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup vegan cheese, shredded (optional)

Step 1 π
Cook the macaroni according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
Step 2 π
In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the vegan butter. Add the flour and whisk until combined. Slowly add in the almond milk, whisking constantly to prevent lumps. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 5 minutes until thickened.
Step 3 π
Remove from heat and stir in the nutritional yeast, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, pepper, and vegan cheese (if using). Mix until combined.
Step 4 π
Add the cooked macaroni to the saucepan and mix until everything is evenly coated. Serve warm.
